go visit a friend . . .

Good morning.  I am always thinking about little organizing or simplifying tricks we do around our house to share with you here.  This morning when my alarm went off at 4:00am I almost didn't make it.  I stood up to turn off my alarm, I have to keep it away from my bed to force up to turn it off.  I did not want to get up, my bed was so cozy.  So I decided this morning there was no need to do the laundry, empty the dishwasher, etc.  Instead I made my coffee, grabbed a huge stack of catalogs and sat at the kitchen table.  It was so nice!  I drooled over the pages of Serena and Lily http://www.serenaandlily.com/. After that it was time to think about what to blog about.  Instantly I thought of my day yesterday.  I had one of our kids with me, and I didn't have anything that really needed to get done at that instant.  My afternoon starting at one o'clock was pretty busy.  So I decided to go visit friends!  I called my oldest, dearest friend Val, got her coffee order and headed on over.  I sat and relaxed as I always do at her house.  We hung about for about two hours and then Val had stuff to do so it was time for us to head on.  On our way out the door my friend Tess called and invited us over.  So away we went.  We walked in, the kids were off and playing and we just sat and chatted.  It was so relaxing, my son loved it, my friends loved it and I loved it.

Yesterday I only had a few hours, and sure I could have gotten a lot done it that time.  But there is Amazon, dry cleaning delivery, grocery delivery, etc, etc to take care of all that stuff for you.  So next time you have 30 minutes or 3 hours, call a friend and ask them if you can bring them a coffee.  I know all our lives are super busy.  Mine certainly is, but all that 'stuff' can wait.  Go visit a friend.

Tess - Next time I will bring you a coffee!
